Lonely on Purpose

Lonely on Purpose

The world is full of lonely people. If you are one of them, have you ever thought that you might be lonely for a reason? Perhaps God wishes to fill your loneliness with Himself instead of your trying to cover it up by desperately seeking attention from other people or things. The biggest gift you can give yourself is to discover who you are in Christ Jesus. When Christ is your Savior, you can come to a place where you don’t have to defend who you are because you know who you are in Christ. You see your weakness; you know your strengths and your limitations. But you don’t need the approval of others in order to find or believe in your worth, because for you, it is settled. In Christ, it is settled, therefore, it needs no defending. El Roi is the name given in the Bible for “The God Who Sees Me”. God sees you, no matter where you are or how insignificant you feel. You are important to Him.

You Are Secure.

“If you knew the gift of God, and Who it is Who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.” Jesus said these very words to the woman at the well in John 4:10. They are just as relevant to us today:

  • If you only knew the ONE who has called you.
  • If you only knew the ONE who says you’re beloved.
  • If you only knew the heart of the ONE who holds your purpose.

Then, you would feel secure.

  • You’d never be intimidated by your weakness.
  • You’d never be jealous of what others have.
  • You’d never again be so wounded by loneliness or the rejection of others.

Because you would know:

  • the heart of the ONE who called you.
  • the ONE who lifts your head.
  •  the ONE true lover of your soul.

You are seen, beloved,  rescued, and set apart.
